Hi all,
I have the 2025 GT Line trim and am curious if there’s supposed to be a honk when you lock the car twice. I only hear a quiet beep as if it’s locking for the first time. Even if I repeatedly press the lock button, I don’t get the usual loud honk that signals the car is locked.
The Kia logo on the left side of the fob lights up green when the car is locked, and there’s an app that can show you the lock status as well. You don’t need the horn; the indicators are sufficient.
Oh, I didn’t realize the green light meant that! Good to know! I usually use the app, but since I leave my phone in the car at work, I can’t check it then.
It’s frustrating when you’re 20 feet away in a parking lot and can’t remember if you locked your doors, especially when you’re too far to be sure the remote is working. I doubt the other cars in the lot will mind though.
You can usually adjust the settings in the car. Also, avoid turning on the honk feature—it’s annoying and bothers everyone around you. The beep is already quite audible.
There’s no honk, just a light beep. You might be able to adjust this in your settings. I prefer the no-honk feature—the horn can be annoying, especially late at night or if you have to lock the car multiple times.
