I think this is the best car I’ve ever bought. It has 127k miles with no big problems. There were a few minor things like the window motor acting up sometimes and a headlight going out. Other than that, it’s been great. The check engine light turned on once because it needed a new purge valve canister, but that was fixed for free since it was recalled. It got broken into once, but they were just looking for stuff, not to steal the car lol. I bought it new around 2014 or 2015.
Not all Kias are bad Kias! Some can be really good and reliable. It’s a gamble and I feel like I won this time!

Winning as in I hit the jackpot with a good Kia.

Some guy mentioned that after Kias reach warranty, engine problems start, and that’s at 100k.

Whatever, all I know is this is the longest I’ve owned a car, 10 years. What you read online isn’t the full story.

@Clovis
I’m not parting with my car just because of something I read online. I’ve got another vehicle but I’m taking good care of my Kia. I never let it go over 4,000 miles without an oil change.
@Clovis
I’m at 127k miles. No major problems at all. If anything happens, Kia will take care of it and then I’ll sell it. It doesn’t make sense to sell a good car just because of online stuff.

I’m not selling my Kia. If it breaks, it breaks. So far it’s been good. I have two other cars, so if my Kia gives out, I’ll accept that after 10 years. I won’t be angry, and my warranty is up. The main problems people talk about are engine issues, but my Kia has a lifetime warranty on the engine, so I’m not worried right now.

I have a 2015 Optima LX with 93k miles. No issues at all. I love it.

I love mine too! People keep saying it’s a bad car because of a window motor issue and a $20 canister fix. People will say anything to make all Kias seem bad.

2015 Optima here, just reached 160k kilometers on the odometer.
I felt the same about my Hyundai. The break-in was upsetting, and I’m here to vent a bit. My Hyundai was and still is a reliable car. Even the guy who towed my Hyundai mentioned they’re good cars. But those Kia boys really ruined it for many. They’ve left a bad name. I wish I could have kept my Hyundai longer but with this theft issue, it makes it hard.
@Derry
I totally agree. My car has an immobilizer which makes it hard to steal. But the Kia boys have made owning a Kia stressful for many people. Even though my car can’t be taken, I still worry a lot.
@Daryn
Kia boys? Somebody please tell me if I am one of those as I may just be lol.

You’ll find out in prison, just don’t drop the soap.

Sheesh, I thought that meant owner.
